It is in great sadness that we as a Brotherhood post the 68th Line Of Duty Death in 2012 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter Walter Patmon has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and members of the Chicago Fire Department.

Incident Description: Upon returning to quarters after helping to put out a small kitchen fire in the South Side Beverly neighborhood of Chicago, Firefighter Patmon fell ill while cleaning equipment. Patmon was treated by fellow first responders and transported to the hospital where he passed away from an apparent heart attack.
