Ever wonder what it takes to put together and make the NFFF Memorial Weekend or participate? The event is held the first full weekend in October on the grounds of the National Fire Academy and Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg MD. This is the site of our National Fallen Firefighters Memorial and the "Walk of Honor". It's quite a site and after attending, I know it takes a lot of time, hard work and dedication of the NFFF staff and thousands of volunteers including firefighters from across the Nation and families of our fallen, who help to put it together throughout the year! The last few weeks and days leading up to it are a very busy and emotional time for those involved. Here are a few videos I found on Youtube that give us a small window into coordinating an awesome celebration into the lives of our fallen brothers and sisters at the memorial. These small clips will bring goose bumps and tears filled with pride, honor and tradition, which are all things that the Brotherhood stands for!
