Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

Information

Firehouse Kitchen

We spend a lot of time at the firehouse. We train there, we sleep there, and we eat there. Because of that, there are many incredible firehouse cooks out there. Share your recipes with us. This is also a place to discuss nutrition in the firehouse.

The firehouse kitchen is an incredible place. We sit around a meal and discuss all kinds of topics. Have you ever wanted a recipe for a meal you had a long time ago to try in your own firehouse, or even at home? Here's the place to get it.

One other thing we can talk about here is nutrition. Fighting fire as we all know is one of the hardest occupations out there. It takes a lot of energy to perform. We cannot be at our best if we do not give ourselves the best possible energy sources we can. Nutrition goes hand in hand with firefighter safety. If we eat the right foods in the right amounts, we have more energy, and that energy stays with us longer, to be able to do our jobs effectively. We won't be as tired as fast, and our brains will have the nutrition it needs to be able to make good clear decisions.
