The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality: KY

It is in great sadness, that we as a Brotherhood, post the 76th Line Of Duty Death for 2016 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter Ted Rodney Collett has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our Brothers & Sisters with the Red Bird Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.

Incident Description: Firefighter Collett suffered head and arm injuries on October 29th while working a wildland fire incident when a tree limb fell and struck him and the fire apparatus he was on. Firefighter Collett was airlifted to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries the evening of November 17th.
