The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality: NY

It is in great sadness, that we as a Brotherhood, post the 71st Line Of Duty Death for 2014 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter Donald "Pete" Martin has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our Brothers & Sisters with the Sanborn Fire Company.

Incident Description: After arriving at the station for mandatory department training, Firefighter Martin fell ill. Other firefighters subsequently took Firefighter Martin to his residence where 911 was called after he became unresponsive. Firefighter Martin passed away from a nature and cause of injury still to be determined.
