The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality:

It is in great sadness, that we as a Brotherhood, post the 56th Line Of Duty Death for 2014 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter & Safety Officer Douglas James Casson has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our Brothers & Sisters with the Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department.

Incident Description: Safety Officer Douglas Casson completed fire department training that included non-routine physical activity at 2200hrs on Tuesday, August, 5, 2014. Casson passed away at 0200hrs on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at his residence.
