It is in great sadness, that we as a Brotherhood, post the 47th Line Of Duty Death for 2014 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter & Captain Robert Thomas has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our Brothers & Sisters with the Bienville Parish Fire Protection District 7.

Incident Description: After departing the scene of a residential structure fire, Captain Thomas lost control of the fire apparatus he was operating on Louisiana Highway 155 and crashed into a ditch. The vehicle overturned ejecting Thomas, who was not wearing seat restraints, and pinning him underneath. Firefighter Thomas was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bienville Parish Coroner's Office. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by local and state authorities.
