The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has received notice of the following firefighter fatality: NJ

It is in great sadness, that we as a Brotherhood, post the 43rd Line Of Duty Death for 2014 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter Robert "Hawk" Meyer has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our Brothers & Sisters with the Union Beach Fire Department.

Incident Description: Firefighter Meyer fell ill while working at the scene of a multiple alarm fire in a commercial warehouse building. Fellow responders immediately rendered medical aid to Meyer who succumbed to his injury, the nature of which is pending completion of an autopsy.
