Please read the short note I recieved this morning and call Bob if you can help
Good morning Chief Halton,
I am retired Battalion Chief Bob Mauck who is a subscriber to your newsletters, etc. I am writing today to submit a special request to Fire Engineering.com. I spent two weeks in NJ and NY as a part of the initial response to hurricane Sandy. My great friend and response team partner is now in the area as a Safety Officer. To say the damage and devastation is tremendous is an understatement. In the community of Breezy Point, where the population is approximately 80% fire service and law enforcement the devastation is overwhelming. It has been relayed to me that there is an urgent need for our brother and sister firefighters, law enforcement officers and EMS personnel to volunteer what time that they can to assist in pumping out the water from the homes and then helping to gut the homes so that the rebuilding of these homes on Breezy Point can begin. PLEASE post ASAP on Fire Engineering.com that our brothers and sisters are is desperate need of our assistance!
The point of contact to provide assistance is Chief Marty Ingram, Breezy Point Volunteer Fire Department 718-634-7967. The Fire Service is a unique family and an honor to be a part of it. Our brothers and sisters are in desperate need of our assistance to help in repairing their homes and businesses and are too proud to ask for help so we are reaching out to you, as a part of the fire service family, to request help. Whether it is one day, a week or whatever amount of time you can donate will be greatly appreciated
Additional questions from Fire Engineering.com can be relayed to me via this email or I can be contacted at the number below.
