Where firefighters come to talk training

Fire Engineering Blog Talk Radio - New Show

Welcome to my first post of Fire Engineering’s Blog Talk radio show – The P.J. Norwood show. I am sorry to disappoint some you but there will be no skits, song parodies and top ten lists!

My new show will be specifically centered on the great Penwell/Fire Engineering authors. The authors and instructors that you have read their books, articles, training DVD’s and sat in their classrooms year after year at FDIC.

Each night I will have one of the best the fire service has to offer sharing their stories with you. We will learn about what drives the individual, some of their most important lessons they have learned and how their book or DVD can be used by your department or by you to enhance your training and education.

Many of these great authors we only know through their presence in their book, within their DVD’s or in the classroom. My goal is to bring the person behind the book, podium or DVD to you each and every month. In addition to discussions with great guests we will also spend time discussing current fire service events, incidents, near miss report or NIOSH LODD reports.

The goal is to provide you with information to enhance your local, personal or department training and through analyzing incidents decrease the fireground injuries and LODD’s.

The shows format each month will be very similar in its flow but I can guarantee you every month you will be treated to the best of the best with many variations. You will have the opportunity to submit questions to the author on line ahead of time, ask questions directly through the blog talk radio chat room, suggest content, reports or incidents for us to discuss. I will also highly encourage you to become directly involved in the conversation by calling in and talking on the air!

Additionally, from listening to the show either live or within two weeks from the live airing you will have the opportunity to win a product from the specific author. All you have to do is listen to the show either live or within two weeks. Then, when I post the question simply answer it correctly. I will then draw from a hat the names of those that submitted the correct answer.

The first show will air live Wednesday August 1st 7:00 p.m. Eastern. I will announce the first guest within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime please stay tuned to the Fire Engineering Community, my Facebook and Twitter pages so you can stay up to date with all of the show information.

I look forward to bringing the best authors to you each month. I look forward to chatting on line starting August 1st 7:00 p.m. Eastern on Fire Engineering Blog Talk Radio “The P.J. Norwood show.”
