It is in great sadness that we as a Brotherhood post the 8th Line Of Duty Death in 2012 from the United States Fire Administration. Fellow Brother Firefighter and Captain Walter Sumner has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and members of the Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department.

Incident Description: Within 24 hours of responding to an incident on 01/21/2012, Captain Sumner suffered a heart attack. Sumner passed away on 01/24/2012 from complications related to that heart attack.

Funeral Arrangements: Calling Hours: 01/30/2012, from 1300-1600 and 1800-2100hrs, Mattera Funeral Home. Services: 01/31/2012 @ 1200hrs, Mattera Funeral Home, 188 E State ST, Albion, PA ( Fund Contact and Address: Memorials in honor of Captain Walter C. Sumner may be made to the family in care of the funeral home, or to the Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 302, 9920 N Meadville ST, Cranesville, PA 16410-0302.
