It is in sadness and with great honor that we as a Brotherhood post a Line Of Duty Death for 2011 from the USFA. Fellow Brother Firefighter and Ex-Captain Michael Esposito has made the ultimate sacrifice in love for their fellow man. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and the members of the Baldwin Fire Department.

Incident Description: Ex-Captain Esposito fell ill while responding to a residential fire, complaining to other firefighters on-board the apparatus of experiencing chest pain. Several minutes after arrival at the scene, EMS personnel evaluated Esposito’s condition and subsequently transported him to the South Nassau Communities Hospital where he passed away from a cause still to be determined.
