Presents
8th Annual Andy Fredericks Memorial Golf Tournament
Thursday October 1, 2009
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DUPLICATE THE REGISTRATION FORM IF YOU NEED MORE COPIES OR GO
TO www.Firenuggets.com AND DOWNLOAD THE FORMS.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO PLAY GOLF IN ORDER TO ATTEND

The 8th Annual Andy Fredericks Memorial Golf Tournament will soon be upon us. Our goal is to honor Andy and his contributions to the fire service and humanity by providing scholarships and other educational opportunities for firefighters.
We hope that when you attend you are in a generous mood. If there are any vendor/corporation attendees who would be interested in donating to the cause we would love to hear from them.

Additionally, we are looking for prizes for our raffle and silent auction. If you have anything you would like to contribute such as fire department tee shirts, patches, hats or anything that you think would be of interest and value(it does not have to be fire related) PLEASE NOTIFY US IN ADVANCE if possible so we can adequately plan the raffle and auction. The very generous contributions from people over the years have helped tremendously in raising funds but as the tournament grows we find that it is more difficult to prepare for the raffle and auction. What used to take several hours to co-ordinate and plan, now takes days. On the subject of the raffle and auction, if purchasing tickets or an auction item, you may make a check out to the Sonora Area Foundation with the words “Andy Fredericks Fund” in the memo line and it will be tax deductible. Bring your checkbooks!

Once again, the tournament will be held at Greenhorn Creek Resort in Angels Camp, California. We will be able to accept 124 for golf and 250 for dinner. The sooner you respond the better your chance of securing a spot. If you would like to get a better idea of what the resort looks like, amenities or travel directions please log on to www.greenhorncreek.com
For those of you flying to the tournament you have the choice of three airports. They are listed below with approximate travel time to the resort.
1.
Sacramento (less than 2 hours)
2.
Oakland (about 2 ½ hours)
3.
San Jose (about 2 ½ hours)
4.
San Francisco (about 3 hours)
Travel time will increase significantly if you are on the road during commute time.

Payment in full is expected with the completed form. We will no longer accept a deposit. The registration form requires your full attention and we ask that you fill it out in its entirety. Your cooperation is appreciated and will go a long way in making the task of putting this tournament together much easier.

Each person attending needs to submit a registration form. EXCEPTION: If you are attending with your spouse/significant other and/or family, only one registration form is necessary.

ANDY FREDERICKS MEMORIAL FUND
THERE ARE 2 (TWO) ANDY FREDERICKS MEMORIAL FUNDS. The one used to operate the Andy Fredericks Memorial Golf Tournament is managed by Ted Corporandy and Paul Schuller. It is NOT a charitable organization. Our initial goal was to dedicate a life size bronze statue of Andy at the Rockland County (New York) Fire Academy. This is where all of the proceeds from previous tournaments have gone. That mission is now complete, THANK YOU ALL!!! All proceeds are now used for an educational fund, primarily to provide scholarships in Andy’s name. To provide the proper means of meeting those goals, we have established a fund through the Sonora Area Foundation. That fund is called the Andy Fredericks Memorial Fund. This fund is tax deductible and is managed and administered by the Sonora Area Foundation (Tax ID #93-1023051). They do not charge any administrative fees.

The Andy Fredericks Memorial Fund managed by the Sonora Area Foundation is an Advised Fund and must follow very strict guidelines. Money CANNOT be disbursed for such things as a bronze sculpture or a golf tournament. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships (in the name of Andy Fredericks) and support charitable programs for fire fighting.

We will always need the Andy Fredericks Fund managed by Ted Corporandy and Paul Schuller, (or somebody else in the future), to operate the Memorial Golf Tournament. It is important to note that net proceeds from the golf tournament are turned over to the Sonora Area Foundation. At no time does Ted, Paul, or anyone collect administrative fees or any other fees, nor do they benefit in any way from the fund they manage.
Anyone, at anytime, can donate directly to the Andy Fredericks Memorial Fund managed by the Sonora Area Foundation. To do this, a check must be made out to the Sonora Area Foundation. Please note at the bottom of the check that the funds are for the Andy Fredericks Memorial Fund. It would also be wise to include a cover letter indicating the check is to be used for the Andy Fredericks Memorial Fund.

VENDORS-CORPORATIONS-DONORS
Over the years our friends representing vendors, corporations, and other large donors have contributed significantly to the Andy Fredericks Memorial Scholarship Fund, often without fanfare or adequate thanks. You have never asked for recognition and we know that your interest lies in the cause and purpose of this annual event. Your generosity has not been overlooked by the attendees of this event. We know who you are and are grateful.
It is our intent to provide some recognition for you by publishing a page in the program with your corporate logo. For most of you, we already have your logo. If we do not, and you would like to provide one or update it, please contact Ted by
e-mail: tedcorp@mlode.com

Golfers and Attendees
CODE OF CONDUCT
As the golf tournament continues to grow the potential for occurrences of “bad behavior” increases. We would like to remind all of you that there are families present and others using the facilities not associated with the tournament. In order to ensure that we can continue to use Greenhorn Creek Resort as the home of the Andy Fredericks Memorial Golf Tournament anyone engaged in unacceptable conduct will be asked to leave. Common sense should dictate what is acceptable and what is not.
If one person is handling the registrations for others it will be that person’s responsibility to ensure everyone in your party is aware of this “code of conduct”.

A golf tournament is a nice way to compete and meet old friends. A reputed country club which resorted to the best management services will always have something interesting for their clients. The Troon golf management already has many offers and the companies which work with this particular business are happy how things work right now.
