Where firefighters come to talk training

I have to admit, with the horrific events of this past week (and the ongoing drama) and the current political turbulence around the country, I NEED the FDIC more than ever to recharge my batteries and renew my sense of being. I want to reunite with cherished friends and meet new ones. I want to know that the world has not gone completely insane and there is a place where I can feel grounded and tethered to a greater purpose. Yes, the FDIC does this for me!

The above cartoon is an attempt to infuse a bit of whimsey in to what has been a dark and heartbreaking past few days. From Boston to West, Texas,.. our thoughts, prayers, and hope are with you.

For those of you who are making the trek to Indianapolis next week, may you have safe travels, a great time, and come with an open mind and heart - there's no other way to soak in the experience and information that will be laid before you. Take what you learn home, and share it, and grow with it!

Come to Indy and have fun, but as my commentary states, not too much fun - you may have to answer to a greater power back home:)

I gave my slot to some younger guys this year, but maybe I'll see ya Friday, I'll be making the trip for at least 1 day. Nice reminder by the way; I get frustrated when I hear folks say they went, and when I ask how many classes they took or what they learned, there is a clear indication they could step up the dedication a bit

Also, I will be drawing a daily cartoon all next week from Indy. Stay 'tooned for my posts...
