BULLSEYE! February Fire Engineering Magazine Cartoon.

There is a saying I heard a few years ago that goes like this, "If it's always you against the world, the problem is probably you!"

If you are having issues with the people you lead, perhaps it's time you took a long hard and honest look in the mirror - the problem might just be you.

ALL OUT EFFORT?

January Fire Engineering magazine cartoon. What kind of effort are you giving?

Excerpt from the 2019 Drawn by Fire/Fully Involved calendar, and Captain Mark von Appen:

Everyone has to do their job. Everyone has to treat one another right. Everyone has to give all out effort. Everyone has to have an all in attitude. Without these things, the group…

TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT

Excerpt from the 2019 Drawn by Fire/Fully Involved calendar, and Captain Mark von Appen:

Share what you love about the job, not how you think others should be. Save the highest standards for you and you alone for that is what you control. Gravitate towards those who exhibit similar DNA. You can't control others or make them shoulder your…

Hey Paul, Thanks for the awesome comments about my article. How Ironic that you took the time to write me. I have your book in front of me with many of the pages already bookmarked with favorite cartoons. Our department has purchased one for every station. Wow! You nail each of us in one way or another. What a great gift and a wonderful way to impact this country's fire service family. Jerry Wells

Bio:
Paul Combs is a classically trained artist, award winning illustrator, and firefighter/EMT. That’s right, this unlikely combination has made Paul one of the most compelling and distinctive cartoonist/illustrators in America today. Paul burst onto the scene of emerging illustrators with a refreshing new style that married classical realism, manic energy and a zany imagination for caricature. His lavishly detailed illustrations are published worldwide in newspapers, magazines (print and online), and books. He also contributes editorial cartoons to Fire Engineering magazine, Fire Engineering.com, JEMS, and Public Safety Communications on a monthly basis.
In conjunction with his career as an illustrator, Lieutenant Combs is a fifteen-year veteran firefighter for the city of Bryan (Ohio) Fire Department where he is a Firefighter II, NREMT-B, HazMat Technician and Instructor for the City of Bryan Fire Training Academy.

Paul is the author of Drawn By Fire.
