Another FDIC is in the books. I enjoyed meeting many brother and sister firefighters from the FE community. You know it's like a breath of fresh air when we come together, break bread and learn from each other.  Thanks to all who attended my Interior Benchmarking class on Thursday and those who stopped by the Fire Engineering booth while we were broadcasting "Tap the Box" live on FE Talk Radio.

I am looking forward to FDIC 2013 already!  Stay safe.

One of the best rites of Spring - FDIC in Indy. It's like recharging your smart phone battery to stay connected - only with real live firefighters and their support community. It's good to see and network with the real people behind the virtual persona's we communicate with the rest of the year. A tip of the helmet to the Pennwell team for producing THE premier firefighter training event of the year.

As winter begins to arrive, we all need to reveiw our dept's SOP's for ops during this season. Hydrants become frozen, the ground is slippery due to ice and snow, make ladder placement more difficult. Slower response due to weather, there are many difficulties that arrive with winter. We need to be ready. So, train on winter ops before we are faced with these problems. Stay Safe...

Training doesn't stop while we are on the fire ground. It continues and brings other training full circle. Train for the next alarm. Stay Safe...
