Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

The Other day while we were out on our annual Boot drive a car pulled up and the lady rolled her window down and handed us money, and she had two little children in the back seat and said to the Little children tell the fireman what you do every time you see a Fire Truck , the little Children said "Every time we see a Firetruck we say a pray for the fireman, that they go home." Then the mother said "thank for everything you do'' and went on her way.

This made the day for us , to know that people care about us .

What a treat to hear that, That is something you seldom hear from kids or adults, I think it is comments like that that keep us doing what we do . nice post chief
That is beautiful to hear and I pray that more people take into consideration what we are up against every shift, but I have one issue.  I believe that most people thatcome and fill our boots during the MDA drives believe that they are giving to us, the Firemen instead of to MDA.  I would have told the kids, "Thanks for the prayers but pray for all of the kids that are sick and don't get to do all of the things that you guys get to do, OK?"
