Member of the Newark NJ fire department 24 years worked in both engine and ladder companies as a firefigter. Spent all my years as a company officer on a ladder until promoted to BC. As a deputy chief I'm in charge of the training division. Level II NJ Fire Instructor serving as a Senior Fire Instructor at The Bergen County Fire Academy for 19 years. Member of the South Hackensack Volunteer Fire Department serving 2 terms as chief.

Hey Chief,

Just a note if you were not awear, as Chief Avillo stated about head hair, there was a lawsuit in Washington DC based upon religious beliefs that centered around beards. To my knowledge they lost the suit and had to allow the facial hair due to discrimination. The reasoning is because the are not a state. Something to look into if this becomes the issue you might be dealing with.
