Hey everyone, how is the Fall season going? I put the bow down for a week and switched to the rifle, got my first elk, a cow, a mule deer, two whitetail does, and a nice whitetail buck. It has been the most cutting and butchering I have ever done! I bought a pressure cooker and will teach myself to do some canning. I also picked up a dehydrator and will learn to make some jerky.

Hi Kevin,
Looks like you're enjoying your well deserved retirement! I'm not much of a hunter so I'll have experience it vicariously through guys like you. You're welcome to bring any fresh kill to the FH in St Louis though. :-)

Hi Phil, I try and make believe I am a West coaster, but the minute I open my mouth it is all over.

Kevin, obviouxly you have assimilated well. Are you all the way a "westcoaster" or do you still have some New York running through those veins?
