Heavy Extrication Little Things

The little things matter when it comes to lifting and stabilizing heavy objects. The strut that is a “little crooked” when you started can quickly become very crooked and unsafe under a substantial load. Bio:: I started in the fire service in 2001. I currently work for the Oklahoma City Fire Dept. as a Lieutenant and I am assigned to the special rescue station. I am a nationally registered Paramedic where I have worked for ambulance based, fire based, and flight based EMS services. I have been a fire, an EMS, a Dive and a technical rescue instructor for several years. I have been honored to speak across the country at various conferences and training events. Including 3 years as an Instructor for (FDIC) fire dept Instructors Conference in Indianapolis presented by fire engineering magazine. I enjoy training and working with others to learn more about the fire service and share knowledge I have gained over the years. I serve on (OK-TF1) Oklahoma Task Force One Urban search and Rescue team as a Search Team Manager/Medical Specialist. I am also a part of the (HSART) Helicopter Search and Rescue Team as a Lead swimmer and a rescue swimmer instructor.
