Where firefighters come to talk training

Our department is in the process of switching to Motorola XTS 2500 and XTL 2500 radios each riding postion will have a portable radio. I am wondering what people are using for radio identifers, I would like to be able to use a 5 character identifer such as E412A which would designate Engine 412's officer. Is it possible to have a 5 character identifier on the Motorola XTS/XTL series radio?

Thanks, Mike

We have the XTS 2500 portables and we use identifiers that state in plain English "Engine 9 driver" or "Engine 9 officer" or "Engine 9 firefighter 1"
Also, we have each channel programmed with the vpice announcement of the channel.. So when you change to channle 3 of bank A the speaker announces "Fireground Blue" which is nice when you are masked up and cannot really see. It's also nice when the radio get bumped and changes channel - you know it happended.
