As I head up to Indy today I’m reminded of 100,000’s of firefighters who become “unmotivated” by departmental climates of politics, charlatans, bureaucracies and just down right lameness. It seems the more you push for professionalism, competence and brotherhood the more disappointed you are the fakers who exist to make your life miserable. Not all is lost my friends and sometimes we need to “get away, take a holiday from the neighborhood”…………… Where can you go to hang out with 20,000 highly motivated go getters that get it? Where can you go for a little motivation while learning from the top fire service instructors in the world? Where can you go for a little battery recharging? Head to Indy for the Fire Department Instructors Conference. Hang with those who are fighting the good fight and doing all they can to keep our service from falling into a dismal misdirected division of public health. It’s not the instructors conference……..it’s the INSPIRATION conference. See you there!
