I will be attending many fire service events in the coming year and I thought it would be a good idea to keep these special events separate from my monthly commentary blog. On this site you'll see my photos, comments, video, and yes, sketches from my experiences (like FDIC). I will include a post and link on my commentary blog (as well as Facebook) to let folks know when I've posted new content. As always, I sincerely thank you for your continued support and look forward to sharing my experiences with you in 2011.
Take care!

Bobby:
I can't believe that you mentioned FDIC without mentioning that I have plans to be there.
Some of my best ideas for blogs comes from FDIC.
As you know from meeting me, I am too old to participate in HOT and I am not smart enough to be a presenter, so I just hang out like a reporter looking to get a lucky break and jot down my thoughts for stories.
I might be in the podcast booth; who knows.
But one thing is sure; I plan on seeing you AND Paul Combs there.
So, get the restraining order now.
Dang, Chief! I feel like I've been grounded and sent to my room without supper! :)
I meant fire service events like the FDIC, FDIC classes, Indy night-life, Courage and Valor 5k, various parades (like the Delray Beach, FL St. Patrick's Day parade) and other social events where firefighters gather - and I'm there, of course. I plan to sketch, take photos, and blog about my experiences - and the brothers and sisters that I meet.
Hands down, FDIC is the BEST conference and training opportunity in the land - that's why I keep going and a HUGE reason I came to Fire Engineering. I have a tremendous amount of pride knowing that I am a small part of Fire Engineering's history, and hopefully future.
Now, may I come out of room, have super and go out and play, chief? Pleeeease? :)
