Where firefighters come to talk training

I am asking this simple question does anyone still re-inforce the hydrant anymore. This is cause I get a bunch of mixed reviews of doing it and why it should or shouldn't be done.

Little help, I don't know what you mean by that term.
In my area the first engine makes a hydrant connection and the second in engine reinforces the hydrant. They are to run either a 5" to the second fire engine or (2) 3" connections from hydrant to the second engine. I hope that this helps you out.

So the first in makes the steamer connection, but doesn't charge the line? Or do they charge the line but put gate valves on the 2 1/2 inch connections.
I think I understand what you're asking, but if not correct me. We call it supplementing, basically, the 2nd due's resposbility is to ensure and secure the water supply for the 1st in engine. Most times, in my area, this simply requires them to hook up the humat and charge the line. This gives the 1st in engine a water supply consiting of a 4" supply line. If they require more water, the 2nd engine can sleeve the humat just as they would sleeve a hydrant. They then can run 3" off of their engine back to the humat to boost the water supply for the first engine.

Thank you and that was exactly what I was looking for. Do you have any storz hydrants instead of a bliss connection, and if so can you re-enforce it the same with the (2) 3" lines?
