Yeah the hands on skills are at the end of the class a weekend you have to do all skills....The class is online, then skills then you test for your comission....this is in texas......

If I remember correctly the rules have changed for online HazMat Classes. I think that the competencies now read that you have to have hands on training. That was the last update from the University that I teach HazMat for was about. How…
What do yall think of a online Haz-Mat class? It is a commission course and you have a weekend for skills??? Would yall take it???

We spend a lot of time at the firehouse. We train there, we sleep there, and we eat there. Because of that, there are many incredible firehouse cooks out there. Share your recipes with us. This is also a place to discuss nutrition in the firehouse.
I've created this group for all of us that have one of the most difficult jobs during any working fire. I hope that we can share ideas and/or difficulties from the job that we all may learn from.
This group will discuss extrication issues from A-Z. From training issues,New Vehicle Technology and the latest tricks of the trade. We will share information in order to keep our extrication scenes both efficient and safe.
This group will focus on aggressive interior firefighting. We will address tactics that increase your chance of not getting jammed up and cover what actions to undertake if you do.We will cover some big issues as well as small tactical tips.

- I think Capt Mike Martin with Richmond VA Fire has a State Farm K-9, should be close to you. If so, contact him as he might have ideas for you on getting in the ADC k-9 programs.
