Bio:
I AM FROM A SMALL TOWN IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A FIREFIGHTER, AND I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE THAT DREAM. I STARTED AS A MEMBER OF THE CHAMPAIGN FIRE DEPT. EXPLORER POST, AND WITH THE VOLUNTEER DEPARTMENT IN MY HOME TOWN. IN 2003, I WAS HIRED FULL TIME IN KANKAKEE. WE ARE A RELATIVELY SMALL DEPT. WITH 57 MEMBERS INCLUDING ADMIN. IN THE SHORT TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN THERE, I HAVE ATTAINED FF III CERTIFICATION, PARAMEDIC, AS WELL AS TECHNICIAN LEVEL IN MULTIPLE TECH RESCUE DISCIPLINES. I AM A MEMBER OF MABAS 7 USAR COMPANY, A STATE DEPLOYABLE TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM. IN 2007, I WAS GIVEN THE AWESOME OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE STAFF OF THE ILLINOIS FIRE SERVICE INSTITUTE. I REALLY ENJOY NETWORKING WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FIRE SERVICE FAMILY, AND LOVE PASSING ON KNOWLEDGE TO OTHER FIREFIGHTERS AS WELL.
