hey brothers, it's great to see that tradition hasn't died in the fire service. being apart of the fire service is something to be proud of and by wearing a leather helmet, it's just another way of saying " i'm a fireman and i'm proud of it " .

Lot's of good history for leather lids being sold on e-bay lately. Even found one dating back to 1886 from a historic fd back in PA where I grew up. York is said to be the oldest continuosly operated FD in America. The helmet is from Rex Co. and is a unique piece of history with a bronze front and high eagle that will hopefully be preserved and be around for generations. I only wish I had the $1000 to bid on it! Check it out Cairns High Eagle

The Western Reserve Fire Museum, Cleveland, OH, is having their annual firematic flea market on March 6th at the Cleveland Ohio fire training academy. Last year there were several leathers for sale.

HONOR THEIR SACRIFICES is raffling a Brand New Personalized Phenix TL2 Leather helmet(s) to continue to provide financial support for our mission of providing the fire service with a free to use and easy to access line-of-duty-death lessons learned database. We are hopefully just weeks away from unveiling our new website and when that happens we will be eagerly searching for information from around the country to add to it. This new effort will require another marketing campaign (and this will require some additional funding).

You can purchase the raffle tickets online at our website: www.honortheirsacrifices.com (top of the page, click on the raffle ticket)...or contact John Barrett or Jason Brooks directly.

For detailed information about the helmet, go to our homepage and click on the picture of the helmet for a PDF version of the raffle flyer.

Finally, this helmet is fully NFPA compliant (comes with goggles) and will come with personalized leather shield (front). We will also include one of our HONOR THEIR SACRIFICES helmet stickers with it so that you can tell others about our mission while you wear your new LEATHER helmet.

Thank you for your continued support...please encourage your friends to join our Myspace or Facebook group and support our cause...we can't HONOR THEIR SACRIFICES without YOU!

Take care and be safe,
John Barrett

Front by Andrew at Box Alarm Leather (www.boxalarmleather.com). While i attempt to make shields from time to time I can't hold a candle to Andrew. Every piece Andrew does is a true work of art, and they really do withstand the rigors of the job.

The front was made by Brandon Roark of Indiana Fire News, he was one of our firefighters a few years back. Beautiful work to adorn a beautiful lid!

What is the point of discussion here? Blathering about our Leathers? HELL, I CAN DO THAT!!

I wear the N6A, and absolutely love it!! A chief I know commented that Leather helmets were nothing but EGO, ........I must be an EGOmaniac! Seriously, the thing I like about the N6A is that it sits low on the head, I don't feel like I'm gonna get my neck ripped off like when you wear the newer lightweight stuff. My neck did have to beef up for the weight, that took a while, but now, 5 years later, I'm never goin' back. Its in the blood now.
