Where firefighters come to talk training

Hey guys, I am looking for anyone who might have a SOP at thier department regarding shorts being worn on duty, to calls, and etc. If you do, please let me know pros/cons and other thoughts. Attach copy of SOP if possible. Thanks, Pete Bendinelli, Calumet City FD (IL)

Welcome to the greatest training site in the World!
This where the serious trainers learn form each other, this where we as a family grow and you are a part of it. How exciting is that!
Please take a look at the group called HazMat News and Training. We are currently talking about some great things and I would love to hear what YOU have to say. Todd McKee
We can wear shorts from roughly May 1 to November. The stipulation is that on any emergency response ( medical or otherwise ) bunker pants will be worn over the shorts.
We wear dark blue shorts during the warm months-(April to Sept), it's a personal choice but on medicals no sandals, must have socks. PPE still is the rule as we have special medical jackets on our Rescue that must be worn along with safety glasses, med gloves etc. The guys love the jackets, they are blood pathogen resistant material that did not come cheap but with our Station name on the back (Irricana Fire) people comment on them all the time
Really it comes down to common sense-wear your bunker gear to fires ,MVC'S etc
