Where firefighters come to talk training

Here's a couple to get started

1. There are no time-outs or do-overs in this buisness
2. Nothing great was ever accomplished without enthusiasm -- Emerson
3. No one respects the flame like the fool who's badly burned -- Pete Townsend
4. To go nowhere, follow the crowd
5. It only takes a solitary light to lead a thousand ships in from the darkness
6. Anger is only 1 letter short of danger
7. Do not follow in the footsteps of others, instead, create a new trail and leave a path

many more to follow
stay safe

Sorry, the best quote came from Tom Brennann when he heard I was "sitting in" on Fire I classes at the Bergen County (NJ) Fire Academy. He said, "A little knowledge in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing!"

Miss that Tom Brennan!

I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. ~Edward F. Croker
Let no man's ghost return to say his training let him down.

Never fight fire from ego.
Here are some Grat quotes from the great Lou Holtz I got these for you Anthony

Do right. Do your beat. Treat other as you want to be treated.

Don't be a spectator, Don't let life pass you by.

If you burn your neighbors house down, It doesn' t make yous house look any better.

No one has ever drowned in sweat.

On this, team were all united in a common goal: To keep my job ( for us keep us safe)

Hope you like these AA TR
some others i have gathered thru the years

Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goals.

An empty can rattles the most.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

and one of my all-time favorites: Youth and skill is no match for old age and treachery.

also to see some really good ones, see the "timeless fireground truths" section in Brunacini's fire command books, a great quote-smith if there ever was one

stay safe out there brothers and sisters
The best one my chief ever said that satyed with me about an issue of "Liability"

"It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6"
Hey my Pal Steve Gillespie from FDNY sent me this poem not a quote exactly but I think it is cool

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.
And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped
make you the person that you are today.
Fires do not think,
They react to set laws in relation to chemistry and physics.
We, the firefighters, are supposed to think and outsmart the fire.
Yet we often lose to this non-thinking entity.
This alone speaks volumes in relation to our education.
This should sound alarm bells at every level in regards to our training.
