What method of entry does your department use to gain entry on Residental Lockouts?

We do not do residential lock-outs as a general rule. If we do get a call out for a residential lock-out we will first try to verify ownership. If we feel they are credible we will try to do the least amount of damage possible. We check every window, try to jimmy doors and locks, and as a last resort use forcible entry.
Our PD will arrive with us and assist us gaining entry and verifying ownership or renting rights.
If we do get to the point of using forcible entry we will get verification that the occupant is comfortable with that and they understand we are not responsible for any damages.
