This video is a review of the new PES/PSS (now redefined as a VRS) that my career FD has upgraded to. My department has provided members a basic system for approximately 15 years, but was recently able to secure funds to upgrade nearly all the components in the kit.......
Many FFs and Departments who have debated purchasing a PES/PSS consider the system to be "just" a bailout kit. Since its believed to only be one dimensional and unlikely to ever be used there are those who feel it's not worth the expense and training required to carry one.......
I strongly disagree with this line of thinking and will always believe that the men and woman working on the front lines deserve the best equipment and training we can provide them - After all they put their lives on the line to serve, protect and hopefully save others - So providing them the tools and equipment to do their jobs as safely and effectively as possible shouldn't be too much to ask!
Train, Stay Prepared, Be Aggressive, Make the Save - Survive!
