The hidden view! Here is a look at an outward swinging door being forced with the camera view from the inside. Often times I teach students if you can see from the inside what the tool is doing it helps to understand on the outside what you need to do with the tool. Here the adze is driven in until it hits the stop. Once it hits the stop, the bar is pulled back with a little pressure creating a small gap. The bar is then driven the rest of the way until the adze can't go any further. Force the door, and make sure to be able to control it with your bar or shoulder to check fire conditions if need be!
