Robert James (RJ) is a 15 year veteran of the fire service. He started as a volunteer firefighter with the Cromwell Volunteer Fire Department in Cromwell, Connecticut. Robert relocated to Maryland and joined the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, the second busiest fire station in Montgomery County. He has received numerous citations and awards from the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department the state of Maryland, the State Senates Office, and Congress. In March of 2004 he received a unit citation and medal of valor for rescuing a mother and child from an apartment fire in Rockville. In March of 2013 he helped to free a Metro worker who was trapped underneath a Metro car. He is currently employed as a firefighter by the Frederick County Fire Rescue Division in Frederick Maryland. There he is assigned to Rescue 3 in the city. Robert is a member of the Advanced Technical Rescue Team, of Frederick. In addition, he has served as lead instructor for many fire department training classes and drills. Certified as an Instructor III, he travels to locations around the country teaching numerous classes specializing in Truck Company operations & forcible entry for both fire and police departments.
