Chief Larry Hansen has been a member of the Oklahoma City Fire Department since 1987. He promoted through the ranks of suppression having been a Hazmat Station Officer and District Chief 603B. He is an EMT-D, EMS Instructor, Hazmat Technician and Instructor, DEA Certified in Clandestine Lab Operations, NIMS ICS Instructor and a member of the CISM Team. Chief Hansen promoted to Battalion Chief of Operations in November of 2004. He supervises the Emergency Medical Services, Special Operations, and the Fire Training work sections. He is a member of the OKC UASI Region Committee and the LPPC.

Chief Hansen is currently an adjunct instructor for Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training, and a WMD and NIMS Instructor for Homeland Security at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Alabama. He was nominated for OCFD Chief Officer of the Year 2006 and received OCFD Work Section of the Year honors in 2005. He responded to the 1995 OKC Murrah Bombing and 2001 WTC incidents.

Chief Hansen has a degree in Municipal Fire Protection from Oklahoma State University – Phi Theta Kappa, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Safety/Environmental Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma – Gamma Beta Phi. He is also listed in the National Register’s of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.

This group will focus on aggressive interior firefighting. We will address tactics that increase your chance of not getting jammed up and cover what actions to undertake if you do.We will cover some big issues as well as small tactical tips
