Bio:
Started career in 1976, Quincy,Illinois FD, resigned with rank of LT. Became certified Cause and Origin Investigator, helped start Community's first Arson investigation team. Moved to Billings Montana in 1982 worked for Billings Fire Dept. 1982 to 2008 resigned with the rank of Fire Chief, moved to Thornton Co. to assume role of Fire Chief to present. Worked for NFPA from 1987 until 1998 as representative for fire and life safety. Was a consultant to several fire departments and educational organizations for fire and life safety programs. Worked with NFPA Public Education division on revision of Learn Not to Burn, development of Pre-School program, Risk Watch, and the Champion program. I have been an investigator, a deputy fire marshal, Chief of Training, Battalion Chief, Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief and Fire Chief for career fire organizations. I have worked as a Juvenile Fire-Setter interventionist, public educator, instructor of several behaviors and been employed by the university system as a degree program manager for Fire Science.
