Well, at least in my district, it’s more an issue of suppression/rescue vs. manpower. Our intentions are good, we train on RIT, write SOGs for RIT, walk a good walk, but in reality - it’s not a perfect world and you do what you must. With our system, the first due mutual aide Engine is RIT. Works great, but can be 10 to 15 min. into an incident.
