Bio:
John is a career fire officer with an urban fire department in New Jersey and has over 20 years in the fire service. He has earned his fire officer (FO) credentials from the Center for Public Safety Excellence and is a National Fire Academy Alumni. John has a passion for training, mentoring, and inspiring up-and-coming officers and firefighters. He has served as an Instructor with the Bergen County Fire Academy, a member of Project Kill the Flashover, and currently serves as the NJ State Lead Advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

John believes that his time as a U.S. Marine engrained several fundamental
fire service principles—discipline, education, and servant leadership. He is passionate about helping others in seeking continuous improvement through providing cutting-edge training and education.

John’s definition of success is seeing those that he has trained, mentored, and inspired become great leaders themselves. It is his desire that these leaders inspire other firefighters to do the same—thus having a positive ripple effect on the fire service.

John has presented at International, National & Regional Conferences such as: The International Fire Rescue Training Academy (Germany), Firehouse Expo, Firehouse World, South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo, Ohio Fire & EMS Expo, FDIC, the Center for Public Safety Excellence Conference , South Carolina Fire Rescue Conference, just to name a few.
