Where firefighters come to talk training

Flush that hydrant

When you arrive on scene as the Engine Company assigned as water supply are you proactive? If there is nothing showing on the initial report do you stay in the truck? Hopefully not, make sure you always get out and flush the hydrant while the investiagtion is taking place. When the supply line is in the street all hooked up, that is the wrong time to find out the hydrant is no good. If you are sitting next to a hydrant while waiting for a further report, get out and put some water in the street.
