  • A more indepth Pump Simulator

Are there any plans in the future to come up with a more indepth pump operator simulator? I think the one that is on the website is great, but a little too basic.

  • 2 man truck companies

We are currently staffing at a level that causes us to have 2 man truck companies. This is a hazard to our firefighters as well as the public. Are there any other departments being forced to run this way? Do you have any training ideas to help us out? This is probably not the correct group to post…

  • Flame On!

As you can imagine, we had a lot of conversations this month regarding putting together the Bedroom Fire and use of PPV/PPA or conventional/traditional means for fighting the fire. • Frank Montagna Teaches "Simulation Training for Instructors" at FDIC 2009

I just saw the FDIC 2009 program and found Chief Montagna's workshop on Monday, April 20th, from 8AM-5PM. • Many options for Deli fire may not be so apparent

We have received some emails reporting that there are fewer states/conditions in the Deli fire sim than in previous sims. Actually, while there are only 2-3 options per floor (basement, first floor, second floor), you can use the options independently to create a more complex scenario. As Chief…

  • What's with the new header bar?

Some of you have emailed us with positive feedback about the new info bar above the Deli fire simulation. We have been trying to go to this route for some time, to package the sim a bit closer to the instructions for its operation. We will continue to use it in the sims to follow, so please let us…

  • Pump Operator 101 Simulation

We took a different tack with the sim just released -- rather than a fire scenario, we focused on basic pump operations. We put in a whole bunch of governors to choose from so it can suit as many departments as possible. While there is a basic protocol given, you as the instructor can turn off the…

Thank you all for stopping by our booth to discuss the free scenarios on Fire Engineering. It was nice to hear that they are helping you in your training exercises. I know Chief Montagna and I would love to hear more about how they are working for you and perhaps what you'd like to see in the…
