Where firefighters come to talk training

As I am currently involved in forming a new training program, for my department, i came across with the task of planning and building a new portable training maze.

I think that the best option is building it with plywood parts, so to be light and durable, and also to be formed by separated parts as to be easy to assemble and carry in different places according to trainings needs.

As far as the building is concerned I came across a lot of info according to the maze's dimension and building details but I have not yet managed to find strict specifications either in the US or n the European or Worldwide standards.

The only thing I could find is the specs by NFPA 1402,"Guide to building fire service training centers" for non fire structures, but in the specs there is only general info about the visibility, the ability of communication between trainers and trainees etc and nothing about the minimum required dimensions, the maximum length or the dimensions of the openings.

I would appreciate if anyone knows a standard that provides a more solid info about the subject and also if anyone has any relevant information about the required specification of such a structure.

What kind of maze are you trying to build?  One for searching or for SCBA ?

When you say portable are you referencing the maze for reconfiguring with in a structure of some kind or moving the entire maze from location to location?
