Strategy and Tactics While Driving District - Training For The Step-Up Officer

While driving district, I would instruct my driver to pull over in front of random business's. I would give the crew some general parameters (wind, temp, humidity, time of day, extent of fire, etc) then "appoint" a crew member to be captain on the first due engine & let him verbally direct & fight the fire. Everyone would role play the fire. To end it all the crew would evaluate the job.
