Where firefighters come to talk training

This flat roof prop was built by our B Shift. There are leaf springs and a trailer jack to adjust the "bounce" of the roof and two places for panels to be placed to simulate cutting any type of roof construction. If we have a tornado come through Lewisville I want to be under this prop.

Completed it has a 2' and 4' parapet wall on the front and a tower ladder bucket permanantly mounted on the side, about 6' off the deck, above the wall.

Would it be possible to get permission and plans for your prop?
You certainly have permission. This was site built and not by spec so we really do not have plans. I will talk to one of the guys who built it and have him put something together.
Thanks scott. I think my department would be able to learn a lot from your mock up

I did not forget about you. Email me at sthompson@cityoflewisville.com and I will put you in touch with the guy that built the prop.

Scott, that is awesome! We've had a pitched roof simulator for years. Maybe I can con the guys at the scrapyard into giving us, or at least discounting us some steel.  TJP
