Where firefighters come to talk training

Yeah, i know, most common ex captain gift from the company is to give a plaque, but, what if you have been captain, chief, so many times that your tired of all the plaques? What would be a really good gift idea from the company to give to the ex captain that has been through the tables many times and is tired of receiving plaque awards? I know there are many people who have been through the chairs and are tired of the same gifts, so what are some good ideas that you would of liked to received from your company or have received from your company that wasn't the traditional "plaque" award? any help is greatly appreciated!

Present them with their helmet and Shield

Exactly what Mr. France said, but if you have the dough, bronze the helmet for him, making sure you can still read the shield.  This is a great idea.

That and a gift card to a place he and his spouse (Or she and her spouse) realy enjoy like a restaurant, spa, or even a getaway spot, this is more personal and says more to a person than giving a plaque does.

You said they have served in numerous offices a few times?  Take and make a collage of all his shields in a special type of plaque more addressed towards his service in the offices he has held, or make a special FD Lamp for his home.  Take an old air bottle thats out of service (Or a new one if you guys are rich) and make it into a lamp (Email me for the design) and put his shields on the outside of the lamp or lamp shade.  Kind of a nice idea.

Earlier in the year our Captain had admired a fellow members leather helmet so we all pitched in and bought him his own Phenix Leather (Red for Line Officers). Had to present it a bit earlier than our annual banquet seeing as how another firefighter had "remodeled" his Dept. issued Cairns1010 with the 75' Stick & Turnstile.....Crunch!!!!!!
