This is where we can share pictures of scenes or pre-plans that you would consider unique for Hazardous Materials. This will be a class at FDIC 2009 and I would like to share your stories and pictures at that time.

Please allow me to invite you to the group called Unique HazMat Incidents. I will be presenting this at the 2009 FDIC and I would love to hear what you have to say about some of our interesting topics.

AJ......that was a great link you sent out about the pipeline emergencies. I ordered the training kit for my department, and am downloading the rest of the info now. Keep it coming, that's great.

I agree. 9/11 was good in that it opened the world's eyes to the job we do, and the effort it takes to keep doing it. Manpower is the biggest issue facing everyone. I am training officer for my volunteer department, and we have 7 members we can count on to respond most of the time, work and other issues notwithstanding of course. So that makes my job quite interesting. I would love to get the summary of the exercise when you get done with it, if you would be willing to share it. Might make for an interesting read.

There's a website about the movie. It was a few years ago, but well after 9/11. The part that is the most accurate is the overwhelming panic and crushing crowds protrayed in the movie, and the ineffectiveness of the first responders to maintain control.

Yeah, all my time was outside the walls. lol. funny thing was, from 93 to 97 the army had the short-sidedness to station me at home, it was fun to say the least.

Thanks for that. How are things back home? I grew up in Leavenworth. And I haven't been back in almost 10 years. Spent some time in Topeka too.

Hey AJ. Welcome to the community. We're asking everyone to use their full names here. If you can fix your profile to add your last name, if AJ is your first name, we would appreciate it. Thanks.
