Yeah, you spelled it right. That's die-hard irish right there, knowing how to spell "shenanigans" without even trying!

Yeah, I agree. This method of 2 1/2" advance is always a big hit no matter where we go. It works well with 1 3/4" also. As you can hear in the video, we stress keeping the line working and the fire will go out.

There aren't many fires out there that can withstand the 1 1/4" smooth-bore with no knockdown. I have a lot of respect for Curt's department (Morris, IL). They pull the 2 1/2" for nearly every building fire they have. They ride with 4, but lose 2 to the stretch (chauffeur & boss). They stretch and knock down some tremendous fires that many towns/cities would probably not be able to catch. All with 2 guys on the line!

Thanks for the comments and yes, it will tear your drill tower up! :-)

Did I spell it right??? I just threw it out there. LOL

Great Video Bro. I have been teaching Chief Newell's method for two person 2 1/2" advance for a couple years now with good success. I like your technique of being DIRECTLY behind the nozzleman. We tried it out on Friday with postive results.

But when you are using the 1 1/4" tip flowing over 300gpm, keep the stream off of the old plywood siding of the drill tower.... Opps.

Stay Safe Bro

Eric, where you able to spell shenanigans the first time or did you have to rely on the spell check? It gets me EVERY TIME!

The video had a lot of great information, we have a saying big fire big water. However, in a rural enviroment with big fire and useing big water you need to make certain that you hit the fire and have a good water supply. I say this becasue we are a combination department that resonds with 2000 gallons of water with Mutal Aide being called out the door that is 15 mins. away. Good Job!

I like the 21/2 inch boor attack line, one person can handle that size..Unless you have to pull it a ways off.We use the 2and half inch often, brenda
