Where firefighters come to talk training

On October 17th 2014 at 2:58PM, a building fire was reported in the vicinity of Grand River and West Chicago Boulevard. Upon arrival engine 42 found a vacant 4 story apartment building going throughout on two floors and requested 2 additional engines. An interior attack was made, but due to deteriorating fire conditions, all companies were ordered out. A 2nd alarm was requested, and companies went into defensive mode. requested a 2nd alarm, and Defensive operations were set up. Ladders 17 and 7 as well as two engine monitors fought the fire while struggling with low water pressure. The fire was brought mostly under control within two hours, though it continued to flare up for the rest of the night. The Stanhope apartment building was a total loss. Video: BoxAlarmDetroit
