I have been involved in fire service since a young age. My father was a fire chief in the small town (Shippenville, PA) where I grew up. I joined the fire department in 1977 and rose up through the ranks--held positions of secretary and assistant fire chief. After college, I held membership in several fire departments (Strattanville VFC, Hempfield Twp. FD, and Kearsarge FD). At Kearsarge, I held positions of firefighter/EMT, lieutenant, captain, board member, department vice-president, department president, relief association vice-president and president. I have worked for EmergyCare, Inc. as a dispatcher, EMT-B and EMT-P. I am a member and haz mat technician with Erie County Hazardous Materials Response Team. I was hired by Erie FD in February 2000. I have held positions of firefighter, driver/operator, EMS Coordinator and Deputy Chief of Training.
