I have been with the FDNY for 30 years and a chief for the past 15. Over that period I have been the incident commander at hundreds of fires at high rise, commercial, and residential bildings. I have written numerous articles for Fire Engineering magazine and am a regular contributor to the Roundtable column. I write and lecture on a variety of fire service topics.
