I was recently appointed as a Director for the Texas Association of Fire Educators (TAFE) and have taught RIT/Mayday and Truck Company Operation classes at the Texas A&M Fire Training Center for the past 10 years. I teach several online professional development classes and assisted in the development and coordination of a county wide FF1 and FF2 training program for Galveston Counties 13 volunteer departments. Previous to my current employment, my fire service involvement started as a volunteer firefighter in Texas. Shortly thereafter I moved to Pennsylvania and became a volunteer ff in the suburbs of Philadelphia where I rose to the rank of Captain. I became a Fire Inspector and EMT in NJ. and was hired on as Fire Safety Officer/ Inspector at Rider University then Lawrenceville Prep School. I moved back to Texas in 1998, joined a combination department as a volunteer in the suburbs of Houston, completed the State Fire Academy, and was hired fulltime by 2 small town fire departments prior to getting hire by HFD.
