My Grandfather started the first fire company in Northford
housing a chemical wagon in his barn . My father was a charter member of Northford Vol. Fire North Branford Co. 2 (est 1946) My uncle was a 40 + year veteran of the BOSTON FIRE (my godfather) got me interested in being a Firefighter. I followed in my fathers foot steps in 1973 joining the North Branford Volunteers. In 20years with NBVFD I rose thru the ranks to Deputy Chief training office. I was appointed to the Hamden Fire Department Feb. 10,1987 promoted to Lieutenant Feb 10 1997 Promoted to Captain Feb 10 2006 (so I play 210 as my number a lot) I am currently assigned to Tower 1 @ station 3 In 1993 I had to leave the NBVFD to keep peace at home and with my friends in my Local.
In January of 2006 I decided that I would try my hand a equipment sales with FireMatic Supply as a possible job after leaving the fire department. (my wife won't let me "retire" before her) This job has increased my insite of the Politics & Bureaucracy chief officers have to deal with just to keep thier Department running.
